Case study: lighting for 800 m² of offices in La Défense

Client brief

The architecture firm in charge of the layout entrusted us with an ambitious tertiary lighting project: to equip the entire building with a harmonious and efficient solution, adapted to the diversity of spaces (individual offices, open space lighting, meeting rooms, relaxation areas, circulation, restrooms). The expected atmosphere had to combine modernity, visual comfort, and respect for the architectural charter. The whole also had to comply with the LEED environmental certification.

Our lighting proposal

We designed a complete office lighting solution, combining technical performance and aesthetics. The project included 359 technical luminaires, 128 decorative luminaires, as well as a custom piece for the reception. In the work areas, we favored high-efficiency recessed LED panels recessed LED spots with low glare (UGR < 19), to ensure optimal visual comfort. LED suspensions were installed, and acoustic luminaires in certain noise-sensitive areas, such as meeting rooms for example.

Technical zoom

In accordance with the EN 12464-1 standard, we adapted the illuminance levels according to usage: meeting room lighting at 500 lux, open space at 300-500 lux, circulation areas at 100-200 lux. All luminaires are compatible with DALI management, allowing dynamic and controllable lighting scenarios. The color temperature (3000K / 4000K) was chosen according to the desired atmospheres. Particular attention was paid to light uniformity, to avoid any shadow areas. The entire system offers high energy efficiency, in line with the project's environmental objectives.

Final result & client feedback

The offices now benefit from a homogeneous and ergonomic LED office lighting, promoting team well-being and enhancing common areas. The client highlighted the quality of execution, the quick installation / on occupied site, and the support throughout the project. The obtained lighting atmosphere reflects the image of a modern company attentive to the comfort of its employees.

Lighting solutions used

This project mobilized a wide range of lighting solutions: recessed spots for work areas, design suspensions for informal spaces. In certain specific areas, acoustic luminaires were installed to combine sound absorption and lighting.
